To
begin, I am working with 3-D Studio Max, and Poser, as I
have bragged before I have made, morph, characters,
clothing. As you can see in, My
Junk. In order to do this you must be able to
use the extension OBJ, in order to transfer geometry,
and textures, back-and-forth to different programs. Some
people try using other extensions with no luck, for
instance 3ds, it will not work. There is a lot of things
inside the, OBJ geometry. Besides OBJ has become a
universal extension, it allows geometry to be passed
back and forth between applications and will export with
the additional information within. What's unique is I
believe it even transfers between PC, and Mac.
I'm
going to be up front. I do like to have a little fun,
while making my tutorials. And I hope you enjoy it as
well, my little jokes here and there. However, I am very
serious on helping you.
This
Obj poison should help you understand some of the
nuances, on how to work with obj, within Max. As well
poser.
Some
of the problems that we have is trying to understand
what OBJ actually does. It does a number of things when
you use this extension. For one it exports your
geometry. The second thing is that also exports mapping
coordinates as well. This is very useful if you know how
to use it the OBJ properly. You can import into Max a
character and all the mapping already applied to that
character. You're able to use this to make a character
as well. Or just morph some geometry. There are several
ways of working with this geometry OBJ properly. However
a problem is understanding. How to use it properly.
That's why I call it OBJ poison.
|
You want to know quickly, how to
use, however this is not a complete cure. It only shows
you a quick way of using OBJ or exporting from poser,
and importing into 3ds Max .
Obj Potion one.
|
This potion dives in much deeper
and understanding how to use OBJ.
Obj Potion two.
|
Exporting OBJ and the poison
within.
Obj Potion three.
|
Scaling your geometry down to use
in poser.
OBJ poison four.

Note, Now
there has been some changes within 3-D studio Max v 2009.
On the import and export options. The interface has changed, which
requires once again a new tutorial.
